Code of Conduct
This code of conduct (henceforth referred to as the Code) has been established for the staff of Samyak Prabodhan Sangh’s, Bhimrao T. Pradhan College of Arts, Sciences, and Commerce in Shahapur. Everyone associated should adhere to this code, and it is expected that they are all familiar with it. The principal reserves the right to change/modify the policies of the code of conduct as and when necessary.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PRINCIPAL
The Principal is the college’s top executive position. The college’s administration falls within the purview of the principal. The principal acts as a liaison between the college and the government. The college principal has several responsibilities, including those of patronage, custodian, administrator, administrator, adjudicator, guardian, and motivator, among others. The principal’s responsibilities as the head of the college’s academic and administrative departments still include adhering to the ethical standards set out by the University Grants Commission (Brand – related), the guidelines published by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), and the restrictions enforced by the Maharashtra government. These standards of behaviour often apply to college teachers and organisational administrators.
- The Principal of an institution should always be honest, fair, objective, encouraging, protective, and law-abiding.
- Ensure that the staff and students are aware of the college’s regulations, policies, and procedures, and enforce them accordingly.
- Perform any additional qualitative and quantitative tasks for the institution’s benefit.
- Be receptive to the student’s suggestions and project a positive attitude.
- Carry oneself with the utmost honesty and display exceptional and powerful leadership qualities.
- Principals should encourage teachers to increase their expertise via participation in different forms of training.
- He/she must also guarantee that the Department of Collegiate Education’s directives is fully followed.
- A principal must give inspiring and motivating value-based academic and executive leadership to the institution via policy formulation, operational management, human resource optimization, and consideration for the environment.
- The principal has the power to take whatever steps necessary to preserve discipline at the Institute as and when necessary.
- He or she is supposed to encourage Faculty Members to attend seminars/workshops/conferences to upgrade their expertise.
- When necessary, the principal should call meetings of any authority, body, or committee.

- The principal is responsible for submitting an annual report to the various committees and Management detailing the progress made in various collaborative and developmental activities.
Code of Conduct Teaching Staff
First and foremost, you must recognise that teaching is all about inspiring and encouraging pupils to accomplish and beyond their potential. The finest educator of all time has devoted their life to inspiring and empowering their students to reach their potential and develop into kind, moral individuals. This code was prepared following the University Grants Commission, the Government of Maharashtra, and the University of Mumbai’s guidelines.
- Teachers should encourage students’ participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
- Integration of character; dedication to duty; impartiality in official affairs; a moral stance towards the institution.
- Daily lectures should be conducted.
- Encourage and motivate students to become responsible citizens, and instil in them scientific temperament, democratic principles, social justice, environmental preservation, and peace.
- No staff member is permitted to be politically affiliated with any country.
- Must accept any job allocated by the institution’s administration without question, in the best interests of the institution.
- Avoid social networking sites like Facebook, Whatsapp, etc. that degrade and demoralise the management, institution, coworkers, etc. Not to engage in any sort of rumor-mongering on the grounds or social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, or Twitter.
- Remain impartial towards the students and make no distinctions based on their religion, caste, gender, political, economic, social, or physical traits.
- Counsel students regularly, encourage them to engage in extracurricular and extension activities, and seek to develop their personalities.
- Unless there is a medical or other emergencies, leave requests must be submitted to the administration in advance and must be approved.
- While on campus, refrain from using alcohol, illegal substances, smoking, chewing, and spitting tobacco.
Code of Conduct for Non-Teaching Staff
This code of conduct applies to all non-teaching staff employees who are regularly, contractually, or hourly compensated. To maintain the college’s reputation, they must adhere to the highest moral and ethical standards.
- Perform all tasks assigned to him or her by the department head and the principal.
- Always exhibit self-control and restraint, and interact pleasantly with employees, students, and the public.
- Respect your professors and coworkers and avoid using derogatory language.
- Treat all coworkers equally, regardless of their religion, caste, gender, political, economic, social, or physical attributes.
- Alcohol, illegal substances, smoking, chewing, and spitting tobacco are not permitted on campus.
- Must not disclose official secrets, mutilate, delete, hide, modify, or falsify official papers or receipts.
- Administration should uphold honesty, integrity, and justice. Not permitted to intercept or misuse college funds.
- Avoid submitting leave requests during exams (both External and Internal). Invigilation duties are part and parcel of academics.
Code of Conduct for Students
- Every student must carry his or her identification card when on college premises.
- Every student is required to keep the classrooms, labs, and campus as a whole clean.
- A student must maintain at least a 75% attendance in all Lectures and a 100% overall performance. Otherwise, the student will be disqualified from the University Examination.
- The smoking, chewing, and spitting of tobacco products or pan masala, as well as the intake of alcohol or controlled substances, are completely forbidden on college property. This violation of the rules will result in disciplinary action. The college campus is a smoke-free zone; please comply.
- The use of mobile phones during class time is illegal and punishable.
- Ragging, anti-institutional, anti-national, antisocial, communal, immoral, and political statements and acts are strictly forbidden and penalised on college campuses and dormitories.
- Any vandalism or destruction of college property is a criminal act. If college property is discovered to be destroyed in a classroom while the class is present, the loss may be recovered by imposing a charge on the whole class if the students involved cannot be identified. Students are prohibited from mishandling and interfering with library books and computer systems on campus.
- Students must take care of their possessions. The institution will bear no liability for any losses.
